There are fir (Abies nordmanniana), cochobble, hornbeam, ash and birch groves. On the territory of the park there are more than 1600 species of plants, most of which belong to herbaceous, 1/10 - trees and shrubs. More than 150 species of medicinal plants grow here, which are used both in the pharmaceutical industry and by local residents. Three species of local plants belong to the endemic species of Georgia and the Caucasus.

There are many historical, cultural and archaeological monuments on the territory of the Algeti National Park and in its surroundings. Among them, it should be noted the cyclopean fortress of the Bronze Age period, the cathedral of the IV century., the oldest churches, the ruins of the fortress of Kldekari (IX century.), prayer houses, underground tunnels, the fortress city of the XII century Birtvisi. Very close to the park is the Didgorskoye field, where the fateful battle for Georgia took place.
