Mchishta
Most of the territory of the southern slope of the Bzyb ridge is distinguished by subhorizontal caves and springs with abundant flow. The most powerful underground river in Georgia, the Mchishta, is located here. Its maximum long-term consumption reaches 200 m/s. Studies have confirmed that Mchishta collects water from vast territories: almost all the groundwater of the Bzyb massif is collected in its basin.

The Mchishta flows out of the karst cave. It originated in the zone of the earth's crust, which occurred as a result of its displacement. It was possible to study the underground flow of the river only in a small area. Its main eastern tributary is still inaccessible for observation, as it flows in underground corridors of space. The water-free spaces are filled with volumetric flow formations of various shapes.
In the 300-meter gallery of the Mchishta cave system, under which a powerful stream flows, there is one of the longest and deepest underground lakes (siphon). The depth of the lake reaches 46 meters.
Mchishta and the "Snowy Abyss" are an integral part of the same hydrogeological system. This system begins with a descent into the "Snezhnaya" mine (1950 meters above sea level) and ends with a powerful outlet of the Mchishta (70 m above sea level). Experiments conducted recently have confirmed that the chasm for Example is also part of the Mchishta — Snow system. This gives grounds to state that the karst hydrogeological system of For example Mchishta is the deepest in the world — 92,345 m.
