Tourists can see the most beautiful places of Georgia when visiting the Algeti reservoir in Kvemo Kartli.

Not far from the village of Tbisi, 55 km from the city, in the municipality of Tetri Tskaro of the Kvemo Kartli region, there is a reservoir of the same name on the Algeti River.Sights of Georgia, having a rather long history, they are often popular to this day.
The Algetskaya hydroelectric power station is planned to be built on the reservoir, the capacity of which will be 1.1 MW. The work of Algeti is used for the implementation of irrigation activities of Tbisi – Kumisi. If there were no Algeti reservoir, settlements such as Georgiashvili, Asureti, Borbalo, Koda, Marabda and some others could remain without the supply of water resources.
In 2012, a skull was found on Algeti by local residents. It turned out that it belonged to a man of the early Middle Ages. Preliminary analysis by experts says that it dates back to the 5th – 6th centuries BC and, presumably, was part of a male person aged about 40 years.
The work was carried out by archaeologists and other specialists on the lands of the reservoir. Based on the excavations carried out, they found out that there was a settlement of people here in the Middle Ages.
