History of the creation
📜 The history of the museum begins with the recognition of Paolo Iashvili's importance for Georgian literature. His home in Argveti was preserved as a memorial site and transformed into a memorial museum in 2014.
🔹 Restoration: In 2023, the museum underwent significant changes - the exhibition halls were renovated, authentic interior items were preserved and multimedia materials were added.
🔹 The goal of the museum is to preserve and popularize the literary heritage of Paolo Iashvili, as well as to present his life in a historical context. The restored house-museum was opened in Sachkhere Municipality. In the first stage, a concept was developed so that the museum could fully function in the restored building. The house was divided into five thematic zones: "The Poet's Childhood and Family", "Kutaisi Period", a multimedia space, "Blue Bells" and "Paolo's Room". In the process of creating the exhibition, archival materials, furniture and relics reflecting the atmosphere of that era were collected. Family items were restored, information stands and video materials were installed. In developing the exhibition, the authentic appearance of the house was preserved as much as possible. Along with the Georgian National Museum, the Sachkhere municipality, local residents and the poet's family participated in the work.
