History of origin

The Kobuleti Museum was opened in 2012, but the work of collecting exhibits began much earlier. Historians and archaeologists explored the region in search of unique artifacts to preserve the rich history of this region.

The museum building used to be a cinema, but over time it was reconstructed and adapted for the museum. Thanks to the efforts of enthusiasts, researchers and local residents, the museum quickly became a center for the study and popularization of the cultural heritage of Adjara.
