Many people dream of leaving their country forever. Georgia is a great option for moving. We interviewed a young man who came to the country for 2 weeks, but stayed forever. Get to know Kirill and his story, and you may want to repeat his experience.
Uncle Zia's garage
It was decided to conduct an interview with Kirill in the most atmospheric place, at work in Uncle Zia's Garage. Surrounded by antique objects donated by local residents, it is easy and interesting to communicate.
Among the valuable and striking things found here:
- porcelain Japanese teapot;
- georgian coffee pot;
- collections of books in three languages;
- several horns for wine;
- almanac “Knight in tiger skin” in golden weave;
- a device for corking wine bottles.
This amazing place is a converted garage. Inside the repair pit, shelves are made for storing wine, antique items are stored on the shelves, scales hang from the ceiling, where those who wish to put tips.
Life and work in Georgia after moving
The main character of the story has been traveling since the age of 12 and lives a relatively independent life. At first he studied in a special corps in Ukraine, then moved and lived in Russia, then in Odessa, then in Kiev.
To date, fate has brought Kirill to Georgia. At first, Uncle Zia sheltered him, gave him a roof over his head and a garage for work. A convenient schedule and mutual understanding with employees help not only with dignity live in Georgia, but also to get an education, play sports and have a personal life.

Today he works in the “Garage”, monitors compliance with the rules of wine and cheese storage, conducts cash expenses, introduces people to the history and manufacturing technology georgian cheeses and wine.

If you decide to make changes, the main thing is not to stop there. Life is movement, and the slightest relaxation can lead to stagnation. Kirill advises not to stop even during the holidays, as then it is difficult to return to a productive course.
He, in turn, plans to go to Moscow to visit his parents during the school holidays, see his sister from Kiev, and then return with renewed strength for further work and studies in Georgia.
The main goal of Kirill's work today is to introduce local residents and tourists to the culture georgian wine, the history of the people and the preservation of traditions. To popularize Georgian cheese, he conducts tastings, during which he tells fascinating stories.
Georgian markets traditionally sell only two types of cheese – miruli and suluguni, and produce six. You can try them all just in Kirill's “Garage”:
- miruli;
