Find out all about Georgian mineral water⬇️
What kind of water we drink in Georgia, what we love and what it tastes like. The benefits of Georgian water.
Our family has a special attitude to water, because after sleep we always drink a glass or two of water on an empty stomach. When Fedya and I arrived in Georgia, we were hot and incredibly thirsty. Immediately after settling in, we went to get water. There are a lot of people around who have an inexplicable panic, everyone is in a hurry, everyone is hot, and I am completely confused. Where can I find water? In general, will we buy it or something else?
When we went to the store, we didn't see any other brands except Borjomi. Everything was somehow unfamiliar. Everything was written on the labels in Georgian or English. And, of course, we took a risk: we bought the largest bottle, which contained about 6 liters of water, and carried it home. After tasting the contents, of course, we were very happy, because the water was really very tasty.
1. The first drink is "Likani"
Now we will find out what the water, which has Georgian inscriptions on the back of the bottle, hides in itself.
Unique, natural, therapeutic table water with living minerals contained in the composition of ion complexes. Its special characteristic is the unique ratio of magnesium and calcium bicarbonates. "Likani" is abundantly saturated with natural gas, which is why it perfectly quenches thirst. Carbon dioxide helps to raise mineral water from a depth of one and a half thousand meters and gives it a unique light taste. The springs are located in a valley at an altitude of 810 meters above sea level, near the resort of Borjomi.
So, we open this water.
I prefer to drink cool water straight from the refrigerator. "Likani", if it were more chilled, would drink much easier. But I can say that it tastes salty, but Borjomi, of course, is even saltier.
2. So, "Borjomi" is our next test subject
But before proceeding to the description, I suggest you read about this wonderful brand.
Unlike many other similar mineral waters, Borjomi does not have time to cool down underground and comes to the surface, having a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. Along the way, it passes natural filtration and is enriched with 60 different minerals that make its composition unique. According to the research of Georgian historians, the mineral waters of the Borjomi Gorge were used from the I century until the end of the XVI century. But then they forgot about them and abandoned them for many years. At the beginning of the XIX century, thanks to the Kherson regiment, which found a spring in the forest on the right bank of the Borjomi River, the first mineral water park was already established in 1850.
In 1854, the construction of the first bottling plant began. The indisputable dignity of the resort and the water itself was also appreciated by the Russian emperor, by whose decree in the 1892-1895's in Likani, on the territory of Borjomi, a Moorish-style villa was built - the Romanov Palace, which after renovation was transformed into a museum. This unique balneological and climatic resort is located in the east of Georgia in a gorge on the banks of the Kura, Borjomuly and Gujareti rivers at an altitude of almost nine hundred meters above sea level.
Yes, when we came to Borjomi, we tried this water. Hot and cold, straight from the springs. Honestly, I couldn't drink it. Apparently, it can be cleaned at the factory and acquires this extraordinary taste. But the liquid has a very strong metallic taste. I don't like that. Nevertheless, people still come to wash, try or just spend time there.
That is very, very interesting. It's worth going to try, even to understand what it is. You can grab a container and pour yourself some very useful water. Well, will you try borjomi for such an occasion? Borjomi, in case anyone doesn't know, is bottled both in glass and in plastic bottles.
The benefits of water are undeniable. Basically, I like the taste of it. Although this is for an amateur because of the slight salinity.

3. And now let's move on to my favorite — "Bakuriani"
This is weakly mineralized water that is saturated with mineral complexes in an optimal amount. According to experts, this is the best water for preserving youth and beauty, as it regulates the body's water balance. Frequent use activates the physiological state of a person.
The springs of mineral water, which is not inferior in its healing qualities to Borjomi, are located in the resort of Tsagveri, in the east of Georgia. Bakuriani is characterized by a minimum concentration of calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium. It contains a small amount of fluorine and iodine ions.
It is recommended for use in baby food, as it is the only Georgian water that has received a Natadze sanitary and hygienic certificate. Due to its unique composition, it is the best for those who lead an active lifestyle.
Tsagveri is located a few kilometers from Bakuriani, the famous climatic and therapeutic resort of Georgia. In summer it is quite cool here, the air temperature in July-August does not exceed 15 degrees, and the winter is mild, snowy and sunny. In January, up to 7 degrees Celsius. Honestly, this is my favorite water. When I go to the store to buy just plain, non-carbonated water, I immediately go to Bakuriani. Because it has a really magical taste. It is very healthy and easy to drink.
10 out of 10. Excellent result. Bakuriani is the first in the ranking.
4. "Nabeglavi"
Unique mineral springs. They are recommended for both balneology and drinking. "Nabeglavi" — medical-canteen, carbon dioxide-bicarbonate, sodium-calcium carbonated water. The source is located on the territory of the resort of the same name, in the gorge of the Gubazeuli river in Chokhataursky district at an altitude of 475 meters above sea level.
Experts say that regular use of it as table water helps to cleanse the body of harmful substances and enrich it with essential minerals. The increased content of magnesium ion in water has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular and nervous systems. A lower chlorine content significantly increases the therapeutic effect, and an excessive amount of sulfates is important in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Thanks to the unique complex of minerals included in the "Nabeglavi", mineral water perfectly cleanses the body. In addition, it increases immunity and is effective in the prevention and treatment of diseases of the digestive system and metabolism, as well as promotes the elimination of toxins.
In Georgia, all the water is excellent. It's all therapeutic, useful, but it's a matter of taste. Someone likes less salty, someone likes more, someone prefers with gas, someone without. Therefore, this water is no worse. If you went to the store and saw "Nabeglavi", then you can safely drink, it is very tasty and healthy.

5. The following types are "Kobi" and "Sno"
They can be found less often than others. "Sno" and "Kobi" are produced at the same factory. The Kobi springs are located at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level in the Caucasus mountains of the Kazbegi district, in the village of Kobi, where we seem to have already been.
Water quality. High-quality carbonated mineral water fully complies with Georgian and European standards of mineral water in terms of microbiological and chemical composition. "Kobi" is carbonated mineral water with a unique taste.
Moreover, it consists of the most useful minerals. Carbonation technology makes drinking water even more pleasant. It strengthens the skeletal system, normalizes the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, improves metabolism, stimulates blood vessels and circulation, and is recommended for removing harmful substances from the human body.
There are an order of magnitude fewer gases than in Nabeglavi. It is somewhat similar to Bonaqua. Absolutely different taste than "Borjomi", "Likani", "Nabeglavi", it is absolutely different
