Vacations in Anaklia, Georgia: Options and Prices
Anaklia is a small town in western Georgia, on the shores of the Inguri River and the Black Sea, near the border with Abkhazia. The settlement's history begins in the 15th century, when a fortified port was established here as part of the Mingrelian Principality.
In the early 18th century, it was ceded to the Turks and the Ottoman Empire and became a center for the sale of Georgians into slavery. In 1770, a joint Georgian-Russian army captured the port, and it was subsequently transferred to the Kingdom of Imereti.
Places of interest
On the banks of the Inguri River, the remains of the Jikha Fortress (15th century) remain, including part of the fortress walls and watchtowers. In memory of the losses of the Georgian people, a Memorial to the Victims of the Genocide was erected in 2012, designed by Khusen Kuchesokov, a sculptor from Kabardino-Balkaria. A 540-meter-long wooden bridge was built across the Inguri River. It is the longest pedestrian bridge in Europe, connecting Anaklia and the village of Ganmukhuri. Cars are not allowed on the bridge; only bicycles and Segways are permitted.
Colchis State Nature Reserve (Kolkheti). This unique place is home to animals and rare plants listed in the Red Book of Georgia, including the sea lily, pond turtles, and red deer. The reserve also offers kayaking trips on Lake Paliastomi. Accommodations start at 10 lari (250 rubles) per person. There are restaurants, inexpensive hotels, and campsites (10–50 lari = 250–1250 rubles). Tents can be rented starting at 10 lari (≈250 rubles).

Hotels and entertainment
The resort offers a wide range of accommodations, including hotels, guesthouses, and private accommodations. Prices range from $10–$15 (RUB 750–1,150) per night and up. Among the most comfortable hotels are the Golden Fleece and Anaklia.
The Golden Fleece is a five-star hotel located 100 meters from the seashore. It offers 24-hour room service, a private beach, a spa center, two swimming pools, several restaurants and bars, a casino, billiards, and bowling alleys. There is a children's room and playground, and babysitting services are available.

- Presidential suite: from $1,177 (RUB 87,110).
The Anaklia is a four-star hotel with an outdoor pool and a private beach. Panoramic windows in the rooms offer views of the sea or palm grove. The hotel complex features a gym and conference and meeting rooms.
A standard single room (including three meals a day) starts at $85 (6,300 rubles) per night, while a suite starts at $190 (14,100 rubles).
In recent years, Anaklia has built a major water park with numerous slides, pools, and attractions. For those who enjoy active recreation, there are rafting options on the Inguri River; diving (instructors and equipment rentals available); and parachute jumping.

How to get there
The distance from Anaklia to: - Tbilisi — 340 km; - Batumi — 147 km; - Kutaisi — 100 km. Recommended airports are Batumi and Kutaisi. A transfer from Batumi costs $90–100 (RUB 6,700–7,500), from Kutaisi — $70–80 (RUB 5,200–6,000). You can travel by bus: from Kutaisi bus station to Zugdidi — $4, from Zugdidi to Anaklia — $1.
