💑 Tbilisi in 3 days. Romantic route for a couple in 2025

✨ Three days in Tbilisi for two: old streets and balconies, Anchiskhati, 🌉 Bridge of Peace and 🌳 Rike, 🚡 panoramas of Narikala, sulfur baths, "New Tiflis", wine tasting, Mtatsminda, 🐢 Turtle Lake and the Ethnographic Museum.

Tbilisi is made for two: wooden balconies and quiet courtyards, wine and evening lights, panoramas and parks. This 3-day route is soft and romantic. It is without strict timings, with coffee breaks ☕ and observation points, with the possibility to replace the climbs with a cable car or taxi 🚖 and just enjoy the city and each other.

🗺️ Travel itinerary:

Day 1 — the historical center: "Romantic Old Tbilisi"
Old streets/balconies → Anchiskhati → 🌉 Peace Bridge and 🌳 Rike → 🚡 views at Narikala → 🌙 evening in sulfur baths (private room).
Day 2 — neighborhoods and museums: "Leisurely neighborhoods"
(optional) Dry Bridge → 🏛️ Agmashenebeli → ☕ cafe/🍷 wine tasting → 🖼️ museum(s) on Rustaveli → 🍽️ dinner in the historical center or on the embankment at Metekhi.
Day 3 — Parks and panoramas: “Panoramas and silence”
🚡 Mtatsminda (morning) → 🐢 Turtle Lake (picnic/walk) → 🏡 Ethnographic Museum; alternative: Tbilisi Botanical Garden (waterfalls, shade).

🧭Day 1 — Historical center for two

📍 Route map

☀️ Morning

Start with a stroll through the old streets and balconies of Old Tbilisi.Narrow alleys, carved wooden galleries and workshop signs seem to be specially created for a leisurely stroll together. It is easy to catch the general rhythm of the day here - slowly, step by step, hand in hand 🤝, sharing first impressions and plans. Be sure to visit Anchiskhati ⛪ (6th century) - the oldest temple in the city. The intimate space, soft twilight and silence will give you a moment of peace and make you feel as if you were transported several centuries back. A great place to "gather your thoughts" before the daytime part of the route.

🌤 Day

013.jpg

Go down to the river and cross the Bridge of Peace 🌉. It’s impossible not to stop in the middle: the view of the Kura and the roofs of the old town is perfect for a “together” photo 📸. The light arch of the bridge symbolically connects the past and future of Tbilisi — and this is a great reason to take a break.

Behind the bridge, Rike Park 🌳 awaits. Cozy benches, shade from the trees, neat paths and drinking fountains — a place where you can catch your breath and just sit nearby. From here, it’s convenient to take the cable car 🚡 to the Narikala observation deck: a panorama of roofs, the river and the “Mother of Kartli” statue, which seems to bless the city, will open up before you.

If the cable car doesn’t work or the wind is blowing 🌬️ — this is no reason to be upset. There are plenty of options: you can walk along the short path to the fortress walls or choose the Botanical Garden with bridges, waterfalls and cool greenery.

🌆 Evening

Head down to Abanotubani, the sulfur baths district, and choose a private room 🛁. 45-60 minutes in moderate heat, alternating with cool water and silence behind a closed door - the perfect evening ritual for two. The bathhouse not only relaxes after a walk, but also creates a special closeness, because this time belongs only to you.

You can end the day with a leisurely dinner. The bath ritual sets the mood for a cozy meal in one of the nearby restaurants. There is delicious Georgian cuisine, quiet music 🎶 and an atmosphere in which you want to linger a little longer.

Summary of the day: morning romance of streets and balconies, daytime panoramas without rush and an intimate evening in the baths. This is how Tbilisi introduces you to itself softly, beautifully and very homely.

🗓️Day 2 — Leisurely neighborhoods, vintage and museums

📍 Route map

☀️ Morning

Start your day (optional) with a walk along the Dry Bridge. Vintage rows await you here: old postcards, vinyl records 🎶, books, and small souvenirs with history. Even if you don’t buy anything, this is a great opportunity to just walk around, look at the exhibits, and discuss which of them could take a place in your home 🗺️. Such conversations make the morning especially warm.

Then head to Agmashenebeli Avenue 🏛️. Its restored 19th-century facades, shady trees and atmospheric terraces create the feeling of a European boulevard. It’s ideal for a light breakfast ☕🥐 outdoors, enjoying the leisurely pace of the street and watching the city’s inhabitants.

🌤 Day

Fabrika-tbilisi-190.jpg

After breakfast, stop by the Fabrika courtyards 🎨. This creative space combines graffiti, designer shops, street bars and cozy coworking spaces. It's a nice place to linger: you can have lunch 🥗, try signature drinks and take a couple of photos together 📸 against the backdrop of bright walls. The atmosphere is reminiscent of European art districts and is perfect for a stroll together.

In the afternoon, head to Rustaveli Avenue, where the largest museums are located 🖼️.

Choose what is closest to both of you:

  • 🏺The National Museum of Georgia is for lovers of history, archeology and ethnography.
  • 🎨The National Gallery is for connoisseurs of painting, including works by Niko Pirosmani.

Plan 60-90 minutes for each museum. This is enough time to enjoy the exhibition without getting tired.

🌆 Evening

Finish the day at one of the wine bars 🍷. Try a tasting set of 3-5 types of wine with light snacks 🧀 - a great way to discover the diversity of Georgian wines and discuss impressions. If you prefer non-alcoholic options, many bars offer delicious homemade lemonades.

The final highlight of the evening is dinner in the old center or on the embankment near Metekhi. Here, terraces overlooking the Kura River, soft lighting and calm music 🎶 create an atmosphere in which you want to linger, share impressions of the day and simply enjoy each other's company.

Summary of the day: the vintage flair of the Sukhoi Bridge, the elegance of the New Tiflis, the art energy of Fabrika and a museum touch make this day stylish and warm. And wine tasting and dinner on the terrace turn it into a small celebration for two.

🌲Day 3 — Panoramas and green areas

📍 Route map

☀️ Morning

Start your day with a ride 🚡 on the funicular to Mtatsminda. The cabin will take you above the city in a few minutes, and below you will see the roofs of Tbilisi and the gentle curves of the Kura. The morning air here is especially fresh, and the panorama is perfect for the first photos of the day 📸. Drink coffee on the veranda with a view - this is not just breakfast, but a small ritual that will give you energy and mood for the whole day.

🌤 Day

Next, head to Vake Park 🌳. Shady alleys, fountains, and benches make it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll for two. The road to Turtle Lake 🐢 begins here. Choose a convenient option: on foot (~40 minutes of climbing with breaks) or by taxi. You can have a small picnic on the shore 🧺 or have lunch on the summer terrace by the water. The atmosphere here is relaxed, with a slight resort touch: the noise of the city is left behind.

After relaxing by the lake, visit the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum 🏡. In 60–90 minutes, you will literally “drive” through all of Georgia: you will see houses and buildings from different regions, learn about traditions and everyday life. This is a great opportunity to take atmospheric photos and feel the spirit of the country even more deeply.

💡Alternative. If your soul is asking for more coolness, head to the Tbilisi Botanical Garden. There are waterfalls, wooden bridges and lots of shade, which is especially pleasant on a hot day.

🌆 Evening

At sunset, choose Mtatsminda or take a taxi to the monument "Chronicles of Georgia" ⛅🌇. Huge columns with bas-reliefs in the rays of golden light look graphic and powerful, and the photos from here are like from a movie. This is the moment when the day gently flows into evening, and the city under your feet seems to be preparing a parting gift.

Climbing up to Narikala was tougher than I expected, but the view over the city is incredible. Using a taxi for longer distances definitely saved time, and the restaurants near the river were worth booking in advance.

Climbing up to Narikala was breathtaking, the view over the city is stunning. Fabrika has such a creative vibe, really enjoyed wandering around. The fуnikulёr ride to Mtatsminda was fun, and the sunset at the Chronicles of Georgia felt magical. Curious if anyone has tips for avoiding long lines at the museums?

The itinerary looks really doable, but is the fabled sunset at the “Chronicles of Georgia” easy to catch in the evening, or do you need to arrive much earlier? Also, are the wine tastings in Fabrika worth it, or better to try wine elsewhere?

The itinerary looks amazing, but is it easy to get from Fabrika to the museums on the same day without a taxi?

Is the Fabrika space easy to reach by foot from Agmashenebeli, or is it better to take a taxi? Also, are the views from the funicular open all day or just at sunset?
