Excursion to the fortress of Ujarma in Northern Kakheti, founded in the 3rd century.
During the tour, we will cross the Gombor pass, following from the fortress of Ujarma. Then we are waiting for the sights of Georgia - the ancient monastery of Shota and the estate of Chavchavadze, where you can taste Georgian wines
The tour differs from the others in its richness and versatility. In it we will visit everything: ancient monasteries and fortresses, mountain beauties and, of course, wineries.
The starting point of our fascinating journey is the fortress of Ujarma, one of the most important monuments of medieval Georgian architecture, founded in the 3rd century.
Then we will pass the Gombor pass and visit the ancient monastery of Shota, where you can walk in its courtyard and enjoy the beauty of the architecture of the shrine, which is several centuries older than us.
Then we will drive through the beautiful center of Telavi, after which we will arrange a short rest with wine tasting at the Schumann demonstration plant.
The next point on the map of our route will be the village of Tsinandali, where the estate of the Princes Chavchavadze is located, which is famous for its unique collection of old wines of the mid-19th-early 20th century. In total, there are 15 thousand bottles in the cellars.
After such a long walk, we will stop for rest and dinner at the house of a hospitable winemaker who will treat us with homemade wines and various dishes. On the way back we will look at the Gombro Pass again, but already illuminated by the rays of the setting sun.
