One of the riches of Georgia is its unique, inimitable nature. Today we will talk about a track route along which you will be able to see the colorful lakes of Abdelauri and enjoy other beauties of local natural phenomena. Track route designed for 1-2 days. The length is about 15 km, it belongs to the category of light, i.e. it is suitable even for beginners.
Brief information about the Abdelaur lakes
Let's start with the smallest and shallowestGreen Lake. According to the sources, its bright green color is due to the fact that the water of the Abdelaursky Lake is a kind of reflector of the color of the juicy greenery surrounding it.
Blue Lake is the most popular among tourists. It looks especially impressive during the flowering of the rhododendrons surrounding it. Picnics are often arranged near the Blue Lake. It should be noted that the brightness of the color depends on the time of year. By the end of summer, it is no longer so bright and, accordingly, there is less water in it.
The White Lake is located higher than the others – about 2800 m above sea level. The source for it is glaciers. It is for this reason that it is white, like milk.
Interesting fact: fish are not found in the Abdelaurian colored lakes. However, it is believed that the water from them can be used for drinking and cooking.
Abdelaur Lakes Track Route
It begins in the village of Roshka. It can be reached by minibus. Then, following the trail in a north-westerly direction, we will get to the smallest, Green Lake. The Blue Lake is located almost next to the Green One. Regarding the White Lake, it makes sense to pay attention to some nuances. It is located quite high – 2800 m above sea level. It is necessary to take this point into account if you do not tolerate height well.
If you intend to stay overnight at one of the lakes, then you should think about firewood or a burner in advance. Fogs, hail, cold rain are not uncommon in local areas. Just in case, bring warm clothes with you. The best time of the year to visit the Abdelaur lakes is summer, and the month is July. Already in August, nature begins to prepare for autumn, natural colors fade, the water in the Abdelaur lakes becomes less. Therefore, they do not look so impressive.
