The most beautiful places of Georgia on a three-day Khevsuret route with a local guide
The three-day route of medium difficulty, which starts in Khevsureti, involves acquaintance not only with the amazing nature of Georgia, but also with ancient monuments - fortresses and temples.
Only the most courageous and experienced tourists will venture along the most beautiful route from Khevsureti to Tusheti. Those who took the risk to make this trip will be rewarded for their courage: they will see the most beautiful places in Georgia.
The three-day tourist route starts from the locality Khevsureti, from the village of Mutso. Tourists will have to cross two mountain passes – Acenta and Nakaicho, conquer the Makratela mountain range and visit the unique highland villages of the Dartlo gorge.
On the first day of the trip, the trail will take you through the villages of Ardoti and Bahao. The path of the conquerors of the Caucasus mountains begins right behind them. The mountain range will become your road and will lead you to places where the most stunning natural landscapes are spread out. After a while, the path will lead you to a small police station, and after descending the mountain slope, you will be able to relax in a small tourist campsite to adequately prepare for the assault of the Atsunta Pass.
On the second day of the trip, your path will lie through the Atsunta mountain pass. Usually an experienced tourist needs 2-3 hours to climb to its top. Beginners are advised to be careful, take their time and conserve their strength. It is very important to take a sufficient supply of drinking water with you, because you will not find a single source all the way through the Atsunta Pass. The path along the mountain path will require strength, perseverance and caution from you, but you will be rewarded with unforgettable views of Khevsureti and Tusheti. The conquered Atsunta pass at the end of the journey will generously give you the purest water from a mountain river, and under the crowns of trees you can pitch tents and relax.
On the third day, you will set a worthy goal for yourself: to get to the Nakaicho Pass. Your journey will be much easier and more comfortable than in the first two days of the trip. On the way you will visit the mountain villages of Chontio and Girevi, you will be able to get acquainted with their inhabitants and taste local delicacies. You should definitely visit the police station, because the next day you leave the border zone. Then you can camp out and admire the mountain river that carries its waters across the expanses of the country.
On the fourth day of the trip, you will conquer the Nakaicha mountain pass, admire the beauty of Tusheti, Tsvatusheti, Dartlo and Gometsaria. At the end of the day, in the sunset rays of the sun, you will see the proud fortress of Keselo, built in the 13th century to resist the Mongols and Dagestanis.
The tourist route ends in the Upper Omalo, and after going through it from beginning to end, you will now know how to answer your friends the question: what to see in Georgia?
