The one-day jeep route Takhti – Tepas Talakhis Vulkanebi passes through the territory of the Vashlovansky National Park. The length of the route is 110 km. Mud volcanoes, one of the natural attractions of Georgia, you can explore during the passage
Most often tourists go to Georgia to relax by the sea or in the mountains. What else do you know about this country?
The sights of Georgia are not only architectural monuments, sea and ski resorts, but also unusual natural objects. There are places here that are often compared to prairies or the African savannah. This is Vashlovani.
Vashlovani National Park It is located in the east of Georgia, on the border with Azerbaijan. In 1935, a nature reserve was formed, which later became part of the Vashlovansky National Park. It was created to preserve rare corners of pristine nature.
The park welcomes tourists all year round, but the best time to visit is spring and autumn.
If you are attracted to surreal, Martian landscapes, you will certainly appreciate one of the natural monuments of the park Vashlovani – mud volcanoes. After all, for lovers of unusual landscapes, these are the most beautiful places in Georgia.
Ottomans-Tepas Talachis Vulcanebi
The total length of a simple jeep tour is 110 km, it is designed for 1 day.
The road to the volcanoes passes by the Dalismta reservoir. During the Soviet period, it was planned to build a hydroelectric power station here, but it did not work out. Times have changed, but the reservoir remains. You can stop for a rest and a photo shoot.
Then the terrain changes, canyons are found, and the surrounding views become more and more like a desert.
The volcanoes of Takhti–Tepa are located near Mount Dali. They are small, the diameter of the largest of them is about 3 m. Mud, blue-gray clay with medicinal properties, as well as oil and gas are constantly erupting from the craters. All these streams descend into the ravine.
Nearby there is a picnic area with views of simply extraterrestrial origin.
The terrain around the volcanoes is rocky, there are ravines and plains. The vegetation is not very rich. Several species of chalopites grow here: Petrosimonia spreading (Petrosimonia brachiate), Caspian potash (Kalidium caspicum), Paniculate Kermek (Limonium meyeri), Gamanthus pilosus, Suaeda sp. et al .
Ask the locals and guides what to see in Georgia, and they will answer you – mud volcanoes. Believe me, you haven't seen anything like this yet.
If you plan to visit the Vashlovansky National Park, you must issue a pass to the border zone.
