A two-day hiking route from the village of Chiora to the village of Glola lies through the most beautiful places in Georgia
The trekking route Chiora - Glola takes 2-3 days to complete. The path goes through the Holi Gorge, through which a river flows. One of the highest points of the trek is Mount Chiora, which is over 2300 meters above sea level, but we won't climb it
For those who are looking for things to see in Georgia, they will enjoy the route that passes through the villages of Chiora and Glola.
Note the seasonality, as the best time to travel this route is the end of spring (May), summer, and early autumn (September, October).
The starting point of the route is on the outskirts of the village of Chiora. If you want to get fresh water, the source is located just beyond the village. After passing through the settlement, the road will lead to the gorge of the Kholi River. To make it easier to navigate, it is worth noting that the crossing over the river will be 500 meters from the stream. From there, the route will go up until you reach the watershed ridge, on one side of which are the rivers Kholi and Chveshura, and on the other - Khvanchula.
From this point, you need to walk 1,600 meters and then turn to walk the next 400-450 meters to the church. The road will go up and follow the serpentine. After passing the sources of the Kholi River, the Chiora Mountain, which is 2,386 meters above sea level, will open up before you. Even without climbing to the summit, by looking at the surroundings at the foot of the mountain, you will forever remember the landscapes you saw.
Next, you will walk to the gorge where the Notsaruli River flows, and on the right bank of which there will be a shepherd's hut. There are 2 sources here: regular and mineral. You can take water of different kinds with you.
If you want to spend a little more time in nature after the end of the route, you can also set up camp here.
