Hiking in Georgia, 3-day trekking route Villages Zemo Luhvano - Resort Akhaltsikhe - Mountain Tsekuri - Village Kulbaki
The hiking route of Villages Zemo Luhvano - Resort Akhaltsikhe - Mountain Tsekuri - Village Kulbaki is divided into three stages, during each of which tourists will be able to see cultural and historical landmarks and the most beautiful places in Georgia
The most beautiful places in Georgia are nature. And it is beautiful at all times, but to fully enjoy some of the routes, it is better to pay attention to the seasonality.
For example, for the route through the villages of Zemo Luhvano, the resort of Akhaltsikhe, the mountain of Tsekuri, and the village of Kulbaki, it is better to go at the end of spring (May), in the summer or in early autumn (September, October).
In addition to the main points, we will pass through the Akhaltsikhe resort, see the Holy Trinity Church, see the Tsekuri mountain, and enjoy the panoramic view of the surroundings of Tsageri.
The route is planned as follows.
Day one: Zemo Luhvarno - resort of Akhaltsikhe
The starting point of the route is on the outskirts of the village of Zemo Luhvano. You can get here by any means of transportation. The beginning of the journey goes parallel to the former highway, which is now closed to all types of transport. So we reach the first destination - the abandoned resort of Akhaltsikhe. Here you can stop and set up camp for the night.
Day two: Akhaltsikhe resort - village of Kulbaki
In the morning we start our journey along the alpine slope and reach Mount Tsikuri. We will pass between two mountains: Tsikuri and Sazamtra, which are 2,820 meters above sea level. This pass has no name, so it is commonly called the nameless pass. So we reach the village of Kulbaki, where it is desirable to choose a place for overnight stay in the surroundings, as there will be steep slopes ahead.
Day three: village of Kulbaki - trout farm
The first part of the route will not be easy, as due to the gravel underfoot, you need to be very careful when descending. It is simply impossible to overcome this path on horseback, so this part of the route is exclusively pedestrian. Gradually, our road will approach the Yanauli River, on which a trout farm is located.
General description of the route
The route is suitable for any level of physical fitness. Only the beginning of the third day requires caution. Drinking water can only be obtained in the area of the Akhaltsikhe resort, so it is necessary to stock up on the necessary amount in advance.
The journey can last 2 or 3 days, depending on your readiness and preferences.
