Hiking route in Adjara - Goderdzi Alpine Garden, one of the most beautiful places in Georgia.
For lovers of natural attractions in Georgia, hiking through the alpine garden of Goderdzi is one of the best solutions. It is almost impossible to get lost here - the territory is divided into sections. The Goderdzi Alpine Garden abounds with rare animal species
In the historical region in south-western Georgia in Adjara is located the Goderdzi Alpine Garden, it occupies an area on the southern slope of the mountain range of Adjara, the garden rises above sea level by almost 2000 meters, which allows you to see an amazing panorama of the city and surrounding area, the most beautiful places of Georgia from this height as on the palm. This place is very attractive for tourists because of its unique microclimate and this is why one of the best resorts was founded here - Goderdzi.
A few decades ago this area was a thicket of sub-alpine forest, but today it is a well-kept and neat garden, it occupies an area of no more than 10 hectares. The entire area of the alpine garden is divided into sections with different kinds of landscapes. Just imagine: meadows, turning into forests, lakes and stony terrain, all combined in one place. In one walk through the garden you can explore and see the ecotope of a hundred different places, a large stream of travelers come here just for this view, and there is a lot to see in Georgia.
The Goderzi Garden was founded not only to attract a large flow of tourists, it also holds a significant place as a platform for scientific and research activities. Scientists can learn by living example the secrets of mountain plants, how they cope with harsh living conditions, and study their useful properties for the application of new species in medicine. Many species living in the Goderzee are in the Red Book, here they are protected to preserve this beauty for future generations.
The foundation of the Alpine Palisade was laid in early 2012. Attractions in Georgia are regularly restored and improved, the alpine park Goderzi is no exception, every year it develops and expands its territory.
An interesting section in the alpine garden is the stone garden, it is stone sketches made with special attention. A whole team of specialists work on all sections of the garden: agronomists, landscape designers and botanists, together with Georgian professionals are engaged in the garden and gardeners from Munich.
Flora
The collection presented in Goderdzi is quite diverse not only in types of plants, but also in their colors, which is surprising, given the harsh climatic conditions of growing. Now in the garden there are about 100 varieties of herbaceous plants and 6 species of high-altitude trees.
