Batumi State Maritime Academy (BSMA), with more than seventy years of history, is an important center of maritime education and research in Georgia. Founded in 1944 on the basis of the Naval College, the academy played a significant role in the development of maritime affairs in the Soviet Union and continues to be the leading educational institution in modern Georgia.
The Maritime Academy offers a wide range of educational programs, preparing highly qualified specialists for the maritime fleet, crewing companies and other maritime-related industries. Academy students have the opportunity to gain practical experience due to the proximity of major port cities such as Batumi, Poti and Kulevi.
The mission of the Batumi State Maritime Academy is to train specialists in maritime and related fields, conduct research and disseminate knowledge. The Academy strives to be a leading educational center in the Black Sea and Caspian region, adhering to the principles of democracy, humanism and academic freedom.
The Academy is guided by values such as dignity, knowledge and experience, and places special emphasis on intellectual growth, ethics, citizenship, innovation and the improvement of the quality of education. Active cooperation with foreign educational and labor institutions allows the academy to contribute to the development of global maritime education and science.
You can get to the Maritime Academy by taxi, private car or city buses No. 7, No. 7a to the stop "1138 / 1143 - Griboedova Street" or by buses No. 1, No. 1a, No. 7, No. 7a, No. 10, No. 10a to the stop " 1007 / 1008 - Dolphinarium".
