Hidden in the corners of Batumi are stories that have found a second life on the walls of buildings. One of these stories is a story about a dog named Kupata. Her mural, created by the talented graphic designer Giorgi Gamezardashvili, attracts the gazes of passers-by.
Georgy, who graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, is far from standard ideas about art. Cartoon images inspired by the cult TV series "The Simpsons" are often traced in his works.
Kupata's dog, depicted on the mural in a crown, has become a symbol of indifference to the surrounding world. Her fame began with a viral video where a little mongrel helped children safely cross a busy road, boldly encountering cars. Soon, thanks to her fearlessness and devotion, Kupata gained the status of a national hero in Georgia. The donated booth and the grandiose mural in Batumi only confirm its extraordinary popularity. And in 2020, Georgian politician Anna Dolidze humorously proposed to nominate a dog for the post of prime minister.
