Mammad Ibragimovich Abashidze is a well-known Georgian politician, as well as a talented writer. He began to actively participate in the political life of the country from about the time of the Russian Revolution.
His whole family had a Muslim faith, so Memed defended the rights of Muslims for many years until he was arrested and imprisoned. He gained such wide fame among Georgians thanks to his leadership of the Muslim cult.
In the house-museum of Memed Abashidze you can find a lot of personal belongings of the figure, get acquainted in more detail with all the nuances of his biography. A monument to Memed was erected next to the museum. He devoted his whole life to the struggle for the unification and unity of Georgia.
