Ukrainian square on Batumi Boulevard
- Description
The Ukrainian Square in Batumi is a cozy space in the heart of the Batumi boulevard, located between the colonnade and the singing fountain. The square is created around two significant monuments-busts: Lesya Ukrainka and Taras Shevchenko. Lesya Ukrainka is a famous Ukrainian poetess, writer and translator, and Taras Shevchenko is an outstanding Ukrainian poet, prose writer, thinker, painter, graphic artist, ethnographer and public figure, known for his democratic views and the fight against serfdom.
Previously, the monuments simply stood on the lawn, but in 2024 the space was transformed and turned into a full-fledged square. Wooden swing-benches are installed here, among many flowers that create an atmosphere of coziness and peace. The trees growing around provide cool shade, making the square a great place for relaxation and reflection.
The Ukrainian Square in Batumi is not only a place for relaxation, but also a symbol of the cultural connection between Georgia and Ukraine, a place where you can touch the great heritage of Ukrainian literature and art.
