  • Description

The apiary where you can buy honey in Aspindza is located on the picturesque banks of the Aspindza River. This unique facility offers fresh and natural honey produced in the ecologically clean region of Georgia. In the apitheque you can learn about the honey production process and purchase products directly from beekeepers. The apiary is located near the road leading from Aspindzia to Vardzia, making it a convenient place to visit for tourists exploring the historical and natural attractions of the region. This is a great place for anyone who appreciates natural products and wants to get acquainted with Georgian beekeeping traditions.

The Georgian Orthodox Church of Khvilisha (Khvilishi) dates back to the 7th-8th centuries and is located at the beginning of the road leading from Aspindzi to Vardzia. The temple was erected in the north of Sharagzy, not far from the road. It is located on a specially constructed two-level plinth, which makes it unique in appearance. Built from well-polished sandstone and rough-hewn rectangular basalt stones, the temple has external dimensions of 13.6 X 15.3 m. There are two entrances to the temple - from the west and south. The interior of the temple is distinguished by a hall plan in the eastern part and “raised” storerooms in the north and south. The longitudinal walls of the church are divided into three sections by two pairs of two-tiered pilasters, creating an impressive and centuries-old architectural image. Khvilisha (Khvilishi) represents a significant historical and cultural heritage that attracts everyone interested in ancient Georgian architecture and the history of the Orthodox Church.
