Akhaltsikhe is the final city in Georgia positioned right at the border with Turkey.

Заброшенные рельсы и разваливающиеся стены создают слишком тоскливое настроение. Если вы ожидаете увидеть хоть что-то отдалённо напоминающее вокзал, приготовьтесь к разочарованию. Это место больше напоминает музей прошлого, нежели работающий вокзал. Единственное, что тут действительно выполняет свою функцию – это стоянка такси. Однако, отсутствие указателей, нормальных туалетов и минимального уровня порядка делает это место настоящей головоломкой для любого гостя города. Спасение только одно - пойти дальше и наслаждаться чудесами замка Рабати.

A few marshrutkas heading to Tbilisi, Batumi, and Khashuri are parked just a few meters from here, right by the gas station. There's a schedule photo in a review from two years ago that still seems accurate.

Never trust what the taxi drivers tell you. They will lie blatantly without hesitation. Seek advice at the office or from a hotel.

From here, you can catch frequent marshutkas to Vardzia, each trip costing 5 lari per person. Be cautious of taxi drivers who might claim there are no marshutkas and offer a ride for 40 lari instead. Just check the building with a ticket window to find out when the next marshutka departs.

Currently, there are no trains operating here. It's the bigger of the two bus terminals and is located at the base of Rabati Castle. Situated on the main road, it's impossible to miss, right next to the Rompetrol Gas Station and across from Smart. The place definitely needs renovations, better signage, modern restrooms, and some organization. Maps and clear pricing would also be helpful. You can catch a taxi here to your final destination. It's quite confusing for someone not familiar with the area.

There are no passenger services here. It operates as a bus station. You need to catch a bus from this spot for trips to Tbilisi, Borjomi, Kutaisi, Batumi, and other places. You won't find any trains here; it's a small travel center.

This place marks the end of Georgia on this side, right before the borders with Turkey and Armenia. It feels quite deserted and often the fog rolls in during the day. Still, it's a fascinating spot to visit. Just don’t come looking for famous landmarks, because there aren’t any. The whole city feels like a scene from a post-apocalyptic movie, which adds to its unique charm.
