A small group of Catholics gathers on Sundays at 11 am, joined by a lovely choir. You can easily get a taxi from the bottom of Rabati for 2 or 3 GEL, as the walk up is quite steep. However, the walk down after the service is enjoyable, and you can also explore the nearby Rabati castle or the ruins of another church without worrying about getting lost. For those Catholics visiting Akhaltsikhe, this church is charming and looks like it’s been renovated in recent years. The clergy and nuns live nearby, and the church doors are open for prayer most hours.
