  • Description

The abandoned sanatorium Iveria in Tskaltubo is a unique object of interest to researchers, lovers of urban adventures and photographers. Its construction began in 1952 and was completed in 1962. Initially it was part of the Shakhtar sanatorium, but in 1967 it was separated into a separate institution with 300 beds. In 2016, the sanatorium was sold, and refugees no longer live on its territory, but no fences were installed and access is still free.

The main building of the sanatorium is a long building (120 m), oriented with its facade to the southeast. There are two turrets on the hull, access to which is closed due to the dismantled staircase. The main feature of the sanatorium is a nice lobby with a round hole in the ceiling, as well as semicircular halls at the ends of the building, which are decorated with a gallery with beautiful columns. However, you should be careful, as all the railings and barriers have been dismantled.

A visit to the Iveria sanatorium will give you the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of the last century, explore architectural details and get unique photographs. It is important to consider that when on the territory of an abandoned building, you must be careful and remember your own safety.
