The Bunebare Forest Kindergarten in Tbilisi is the first forest kindergarten of its kind in Georgia, based on outdoor learning methods. Created in 2020 under the leadership of certified forest pedagogy specialist Tamar Chakvetadze, the garden is located on the territory of the Digomi Forest Park. Here, advanced methods are used to implement educational programs in harmony with nature.
Bunebare Forest Kindergarten offers education for children aged 1.5 to 5 years, organizing mixed groups where children interact with each other and the environment at any time of the year. The main principle of the garden is “There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing,” which allows children to learn and develop in the fresh air, regardless of climatic conditions.
Classes are held according to two programs: mid-week and on weekends. The midweek program includes four meetings from Monday to Friday, excluding Wednesday, while both programs begin at 09:30 and end at 13:30. The Forest Garden integrates elements of ecology, climate change and sustainability goals to provide children with a unique opportunity for early childhood education in the outdoors.
