The Georgian Trade Union Confederation (GTUC), based in Tbilisi, is an organization dedicated to protecting workers' rights and improving working conditions in the country. Created in 1992, the confederation unites 21 trade unions with up to 150 thousand members. GTUC's main activities include promoting democratization of the economy and society, protecting labor rights, establishing civilized labor relations, and ensuring gender equality in the workplace. The Confederation conducts collective bargaining, organizes strikes and demonstrations, defending the interests of workers in various industries. Since 2006, GTUC has been an active participant in international organizations such as the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the Pan-European Regional Council (PERC).
