The Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development (CIPDD) analytical center is located in Tbilisi and was founded in 1992 under the leadership of Georgian political scientist Gia Nodia. The institute specializes in research in the areas of conflict prevention and resolution, political parties, media, security, civil-military relations, local government and religious minorities. CIPDD actively implements educational projects and publishes both translated and original works. Its partners include organizations such as the OSCE, the CordAid Foundation and the Open Society Institute. The institute is supported by Western governments and private foundations, including the George Soros Foundation.
