Great Mtskheta State Archaeological Museum-Reserve

The Museum-Reserve was founded in 1958 in Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the state of Iberia, on the territory of the modern district of Eastern Georgia. Archaeologists from all over the world participated in the archaeological excavations of the city, during which many ancient artifacts were discovered: ceramic and glass products, bronze sculptures, tools of labor and everyday life, gold jewelry, Greek inscriptions and other finds.
At the moment, Mtskheta is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List of Cultural and historical monuments. During the walk, it is worth paying attention to the royal tomb and residence, the acropolis of the city and the fortress of Bebristsikhe.
The museum in the Samtavro Monastery has a special program for students “Children's Archeology". Little guests of Georgia will be especially interested in the museum-reserve!

По моему мнению, посещение древней столицы Грузии - Мцхеты - является обязательным, если вы уже находитесь в этой стране! Здесь можно увидеть древний мост Помпея, подняться к памятнику, воспетому Лермонтовым - Джвари, и зайти в старинный храм, где находится могила с хитоном Иисуса.

По моему убеждению, посещение древней столицы Грузии — Мцхеты — является абсолютно неотъемлемой частью поездки в эту страну! Там стоит увидеть старинный мост Помпея, подняться к воспетому Лермонтовым Джвари, и заглянуть в древний храм, где, как говорят, хранится хитон Иисуса...
