Givi Jaoshvili Zestaponi Local Museum

The Zestafon Museum of Local Lore, located in the center of a small town, contains a unique collection of exhibits on the topic of archeology.

An exhibition dedicated to the construction of a ferroalloy plant and an ethnographic hall are available to visitors daily. The museum, founded in 1968, preserves original samples of tools of the VII-VI century BC, stone tools of the Neolithic era, household items, jewelry, ceramic and clay products.

Many of the exhibits presented in the exhibition halls were found in the Shorapani fortress and on Mount Kvintsikhi. Of particular interest are the documentary data of the twentieth century, reflecting the development of Zestafoni.

The museum fund contains personal belongings of V. Tsereteli, the Order of the Cross of Honor awarded to G. Tutberidze, and the silver medal of D. Meskhishvili. The museum has a rich collection of old books.
