  • Description

The Sachkhera Museum of Local Lore, located in the garden of Akaki Tsereteli's mother, provides a unique opportunity to get acquainted with archaeological finds and gold products found near the Todadze fortress. Researchers G. Tsereteli, B. Kuftin and O. Japaridze made a great contribution to the development of the museum.

The village of Sachkhere is known thanks to the writings of V. Batonishvili, who wrote about the road running from west to east through the Licht-Imereti Mountain and the Cherathevi Gorge. The exhibition fund has a unique collection of household items, jewelry, tools, ceramic and wooden products, fabrics and clothing.

On the territory of the museum, founded in 1978, there is an old barn in which grain and corn were stored, a wine cellar. The central element of the exposition of religious values is the Book of Prayers, it was printed in 1822 in the printing house of the royal palace.
