Kote & Soso Tsereteli Memorial House-Museum
- Description
Soso and Kote Tsereteli are a father and his son, who were skilled famous Georgian needleworkers.
Throughout his life, his father created unique paintings and household items, which he painted with individual drawings, and also made objects that convey the peculiarities of Eastern and Caucasian culture.
In order for the workshop to have a worthy heir, he taught his son from childhood his difficult but entertaining craft.
In the Soso and Kote Tsereteli house-museum you can find unique family works, documents, photographs and, of course, a huge number of paintings.

Дом-музей Сосо и Коте Церетели впечатляет тем, как прослеживается преемственность мастерства от отца к сыну. Особенно интересно, что здесь можно увидеть не только готовые работы, но и документы и фотографии, раскрывающие их творческий процесс.

This museum is really well-organized and filled with interesting content. However, the staff, speaking in somewhat broken English, might struggle to persuade you that hijacking planes is considered a civil form of protest.

This is one of the most captivating museums within the Tbilisi Union of Museums. Inside this compact apartment, you truly get a sense of life in Georgia during the Soviet era and witness the causes and outcomes of its decline. The outstanding museography shares narratives about two men—a father and son—with varied interests, ranging from collecting stamps and studying Hebrew to exploring modern painting and photography, alongside the poignant tale of an airplane hijacking.
