Vladimir Mayakovski House Museum

The museum of the famous Russian poet and founder of futurism, Vladimir Mayakovsky, is located in a two-story estate in the village of Baghdadi. The writer was born in 1893 in the Kutaisi province of Georgia, where the future playwright spent the first years of his life.
The Memorial House Museum, founded in 1940, consists of a residential building, a small garden and an exhibition hall, which contains more than five thousand exhibits about the work of the publicist.
Visitors should pay special attention to the interior of the estate, because Mayakovsky came from an impoverished noble family. The estate has preserved his father's study with a rich collection of literary works by Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Pushkin and Maxim Gorky. The museum fund also holds documentary materials, personal notes and letters, photographs of the writer's family.
