What natural attractions are worth visiting in Georgia. The natural rocky gates of Kldekari.
Cldekari is a natural rock gate, which was formed at the foot of a cliff. The territory of this gate is part of the Algeti National Park. In addition to its unusual appearance, Kldekari attracts tourists with its rocky expanse.
In the Trialeti mountains, on a high watershed ridge, in the south of which are the neighborhoods of Tsalka and Manglisi, and in the north - the valleys of the rivers Tedzma and Tana, there is a stone cliff. On the top of the cliff, the ruins of the Bagvashi castle have been preserved to this day.
Over the centuries it protected and controlled trade and caravan route of strategic importance, which ran along the bottom of the cliff. This road connected Kartli to southern Georgia - Tsalka and Trialeti and played important role in economic life of the country. At the foot of the mountain was cut through passage. This is the reason for the name Kldiskari (klde = rock, kari = gate).
The territory of Kldekari is part of the Algeti National Park. The Algeti State Reserve was founded in 1965 with the purpose of protecting plants of the easternmost borders: eastern spruce and Caucasian fir. In 2007, the reserve was granted the status of a national park.
