Human footprint in nature: garbage on the sandy beach of Ureki in 2020. Video review and reviews of tourists.
Ureki is a cozy "dacha" resort town on the shores of the Black Sea. Every year, the resort is visited by many tourists and as a result, there is more and more garbage on the beaches. This is both household garbage from humans and natural garbage brought by the sea. Love and care for nature a direct duty of every man. Take care and love the nature!
We started walking around the beach from the end of Takaishvili Street. This is not the cleanest place to rest and swim. There is garbage scattered everywhere. There is garbage both human and natural.
People are resting on the beach right among the garbage. There are signs all over the beach saying "bathing is prohibited".
Grigoleti beach, located at the other end of Ureki, the picture here is no better. The entire forest is polluted and the entire coastline is covered in garbage. There are piles of garbage literally all over the beach. On Grigoleti we found a more or less clean piece of sand, where we were able to rest for a couple of hours. But if you go back in the direction of Ureki village and walk along the shoreline, you'll come to the dump. Through this dump you can walk to the old pier, but then there's no road.
We decided to make an experiment, we went there, where there were fewer people, we thought it would be much cleaner. But it was exactly the opposite, the further away from civilization, the more trash we saw.
It is possible to find a clean place on the beach. For example, near Colchis. There are wheel prints on the sand, you can see that the garbage is being cleaned.
Water in Ureki
The water in a storm is very muddy, brown in color. Apparently, all this sand, all this dirt, garbage, all this is mixed together and, accordingly, cloudy water is obtained.
In general, the water in Ureki is transparent, but very rarely. Due to the fact that it often storms here. Accordingly, the water is always cloudy.
The water itself is much warmer in Ureki than in Batumi. If you want to swim in the transparent water, it's best to swim when there are no people, this is somewhere between 8:00 am and 11:00 am.
Diving in the water is not comfortable, because when you just swim underwater and open your eyes, you see different garbage. Rarely do you see natural garbage in the water, mostly wrappers, plastic bottles, bags and other trash.
Why is there so much trash on the beach in Ureki?
Ureki has gorgeous nature, a wide coastline, a gentle sandy entrance to the water, and a gorgeous forest.
Unfortunately, the impression is spoiled by garbage, of which there is a lot.
The first reason is people. Tourists themselves are to blame, throwing trash wherever you can. In the village itself and on the beach there are many trash cans, but very often you can see that the trash is not in the tank, and near the tank.
Of course, natural trash can bring from the sea, but domestic trash is only people's fault. Take care and love nature.
