The main purpose of the tour is the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta. This place is more than 2,000 thousand years old, and throughout its long existence it preserves the history and culture of hundreds of generations, and is also the cradle of the Christian faith throughout the Caucasus.
Upon arrival, we will go up to the Jvari temple, where the confluence of the two rivers Aragvi and Kura, sung in the poem by M.Y. Lermontov "From Mtsiri", is located. We will take a walk around the monastery, after which we will go down to the city.
In the center of Mtskheta, the main cathedral of Svetitskhoveli stands proudly, the construction of which began in the 11th century. Externally, the temple looks strict and majestic, which constantly attracts Christian pilgrims and ordinary tourists.
Next, according to the plan, we will leave the borders of the ancient city and go to the famous monastery of Shio Mgvime, the construction of which dates back to the 6th century. After seeing all the sights, we will replenish our strength by having lunch in a picturesque open-air restaurant.
The next stop point is the ancient Roman acropolis of Bagineti. We visit Roman baths, ruins of palaces and a pagan temple. In the evening we return to Tbilisi. Where we taste delicious wine under the atmosphere of the evening city and a story about the peculiarities of Georgian winemaking.
