What to see in Georgia?
Nature, monuments, cultural traditions. And you can see everything at once in one place, if you decide to go to the fortress of Machi.
The starting point of the route is the information center in the village of Matsimi. Further the road goes along the Bneli Heoba River. The trail is quite scenic, the main thing is to look around. So, soon after the start of the path you will pass through a grove of hornbeams, glades where moss is laid almost like a carpet and covers everything, even large rocks.
From there, the path will wind through the Bneli Heoba River, after which you will find yourself in a mixed grove of beech trees. From there, after walking a little further, you will reach a castle built a couple of centuries ago.
This fortress is preserved from feudal times, when kings still ruled in Kakheti. The fortress itself is surrounded by a defensive wall, and under the ground hides a network of secret passages. Not everything has survived to our time, so some of the structures are only ruins.
Such places fully convey the atmosphere of their time and tell about the origins of the nation even without words.
