Georgia is known for its health resorts and sanatoriums. One of them is located in Kobuleti. It is a resort town on the Black Sea coast in Adjara, where various diseases are successfully treated. Tourists come here at the call of the warm sea and clean mountain air!
The first human settlements appeared on the territory where Kobuleti is now located in the 5th century BC. However, this fact is mainly used by various kinds of marketers to popularize the region. Tourists and travelers, in most cases, see Kobuleti as a resort, a place for recreation.
In this regard, the city also has a story to tell. The resort "history" of Kobuleti began in 1911 - at that time on its territory opened the first private sanatorium.
Despite the fact that the various healing springs on the territory of Kobuleti were known and used since ancient times, it remained in the shade for quite a long time.
The first steps in transforming Adjara into a full-fledged resort area were made during the Soviet regime. Within a few years, a network of hotels, sanatoriums, rest houses was built. The state seriously spent money on the development of sanatorium and resort infrastructure in order to provide full recreation to the citizens of the country.
In fact, over the next half century, Kobuleti became one of the best Black Sea resorts. According to the 2014 census, the city is home to about 20 thousand people.
The warm sea, healing springs, fresh mountain air attract tourists who come here not only to rest. Local sanatoriums and preventive clinics successfully treat various diseases.
