If you do not know what to see in Georgia, pay attention to the composition of Ali and Nino in Batumi, a symbol of eternal love.
Monumental statues of Ali and Nino are one of the main attractions of Georgia. This unique sculpture is impossible to miss while in Batumi
In the port town of Batumi, which is one of the main resorts in Georgia, next to the waterfront splashes the warm Black Sea, there are snow-white beaches and sprawling palm trees. If you have a question, what to see in Georgia, the sunny city will give you the answer.
The seafront of Batumi is interesting not only in terms of beach recreation, here you can climb to a bird's-eye view and see the panorama of the entire city or visit modern works of art, such as the Alphabet Tower or the statue of Ali and Nino.
The latter is of particular interest because the sculpture does not stand as a soulless piece of metal, it moves. The seemingly weightless figures of a man and a woman approach each other, forming a single whole. The movement happens every 10 minutes, so no one who wants to watch this amazing moment will miss it. It is hard even to imagine such beauty! In the setting sun under the sound of rolling waves come to life metal sculptures. It is clear why many tourists relegate Batumi embankment to the most beautiful places in Georgia.
The composition itself is a figure of two people whose height is more than 8 meters. Despite the massive size, the construction does not look bulky, because the material of the sculpture is a transparent metal, it is bent in the spheres, which, intertwined, form the images of lovers. This project was implemented by the famous Georgian sculptor and artist - Tamar Kvesitadze.
The sights of Georgia have a rich and undoubtedly interesting history, this has not escaped the modern sculpture of Ali and Nino. The sculptor Kvesitadze took inspiration for this composition from the novel of the same name by Kurban Said. The story is about the strong feelings between Ali Shirvashir and Nino Kipiani, who could not be together because they belonged to different religions and peoples. The novel was written in 1918, but only in 2010, as a symbol of boundless love, transformed into a sculpture and is now a visual symbol of the freedom of love from national and religious frameworks.
Not far from this place is the Panorama Wheel, where you can see the city panorama as if in the palm of your hand and turn the view into an exciting adventure. You can also visit the equally interesting Alphabet Tower, where under the glass dome you can see a beautiful view of the city and the sea.
