Vacation in the resort town of Chakvi ⬇️
Seventeen kilometers from Batumi you will meet a once former fishing village, and now an ecologically clean nature reserve Georgian resort — Chakvi. The Adjara village stretches along the Black Sea coast and opens up picturesque views.
On the shore there is a eucalyptus grove, famous throughout Georgia. It is thanks to this grove that the air in Chakvi is fresh and healing. Cows walking everywhere here, which can be seen even on the beach, create an atmosphere of rural romance. Chakvi it is surrounded by low mountains covered with dense vegetation. This nature emphasizes the solitude and remoteness of the village from the noise of big cities.
Sea and beach
Chakvi is known not only for its eucalyptus grove, but also for its clean sea water. Crystal water is preserved here due to the fact that several large mountain rivers flow into the sea near Batumi. Batumi beaches they cannot boast of such cleanliness because of the mouth of the Chorokhi River, which during floods brings a lot of silt and garbage to the shore. And Chakvi is located far enough from Chorokha and on the other side, so the waters of this river do not get here, allowing the beach to remain clean.
Tourists rarely come here, because the beach infrastructure in Chakvi is poorly developed. There are practically no chaise lounges, changing rooms, or toilets here. However, pine trees grow along the shore and create a natural shade here, so umbrellas may not be useful to you. The beach here is very long, wide and spacious. Crowding and a large number of vacationers never happens here.
Accommodation in Chakvi
There is a sufficient amount of accommodation for tourists in the village of Chakvi. These are not only guest houses and hotels, but also the private sector. Near the sea, you can see a lot of ads for renting rooms or entire houses. The most expensive accommodation here is the Dreamland Oasis Hotel. For two people here you can rent a room for 11,000 rubles with the option “all inclusive”. There are also cheap hotels where a room costs about 1000 rubles per night. If desired, you can find accommodation in the immediate vicinity of the sea.
If you decide to rent a house from the local population, you will be able to get to know the Georgians better. You will see for yourself how hospitable, sincere and self-respecting they are. You will also understand that optimism is the credo of this wonderful people.
So feel free to joke with them and laugh. The local population appreciates cheerfulness. But do not cross the border, you should not joke about their nationality, tell jokes about Georgians and the like. It can break you up forever.
Meals in Chakvi
In comparison with Batumi, there are, of course, many times fewer establishments where you can have a snack and drink coffee. But it won't be difficult for you to find a cozy cafe. The average check for two will cost about 25 GEL. The choice of dishes here is the same as throughout Georgia.
They cook here traditional khachapuri in Adjarian, kebabs and much more. All the food is very tasty and satisfying. After all, Georgia is also famous for the fact that the food here is equally delicious everywhere. Only some regional national dishes differ in the way they are prepared.
Entertainment in Chakvi
In addition to sea recreation, there is little entertainment in Chakvi. Most recently, a water park was opened at the Dreamland Oasis Hotel. In addition, tourists can go fishing and boat trips. From here you can drive around the neighborhood and see the national parks of Mtirala, Kintrishi and Kolkheti.
Also nearby is the famous Byzantine fortress of Petra. Chakvi is located not far from Batumi itself, where you can also go if you wish. And you can also get to the villages of Poti or Kobuleti. In the immediate vicinity of Chakvi is the Batumi Botanical Garden. This beautiful place is definitely worth a visit.
Chakvi is famous not only for the ruins of the fortress of Peter and its beach. The village of Chakvi — tea the capital of Georgia. There are huge tea plantations in his district. You can look at the surviving house of a Chinese tea grower who once founded a tea tradition here. And, of course, it's worth looking at the plantations themselves.
Holidays with children in Chakvi
If you consider Chakvi as a place to relax with children, then you can't think of a better place. The air and sea are clean here, the rest here is aimed more at unity with nature, and not at modern entertainment, of which there are plenty in Batumi. You can swim in the sea with children, the entrance to the water here is gentle and safe, you can walk through the forest and breathe fresh eucalyptus air.
You can visit the water park and have fun there. You can also go fishing and go boating on the sea. If you have a car, it will be even easier. You can drive through the sights in the district or go to Batumi. The distance to it can be overcome in 15-20 minutes. By the way, you can get there by minibus, which run here regularly.
A favorable time to relax in Chakvi
Chakvi is still interesting by the beach, so it's better to come here in the summer, since there is nothing to do here at other times of the year. Except to drive around the neighborhood from here and look at nature, which is of course very beautiful here. As, indeed, in the whole of Georgia. Otherwise, there is no entertainment.
The bathing season starts here from the end of May and lasts until the end of October. For those who do not really like the heat and heat, it is better to come to the velvet season, which begins at the beginning of autumn, or at the very beginning of summer.
Is it worth going to Chakvi
Although Chakvi is poorly developed in terms of beach infrastructure, it is very nice and quiet here. Clean air and a deserted beach will help to escape from the hustle and bustle and relax body and soul. Unity with nature is guaranteed to you. From here you can enjoy picturesque views of the sea.
In addition, the beach infrastructure, although poorly developed, is still there. You can always rent a sunbed or an umbrella. There are also cafes, restaurants and hotels within easy reach of the beach. Chakvi is quite comfortable and not a bad holiday resort.
Of course, those who are used to relaxing in a chic and grand manner will not be impressed by the resort. And, maybe, it is these tourists who will be impressed by their privacy and remoteness from the hustle and bustle of this cozy and cute resort village.
